California Choices is a dynamic new resource that presents Californians with accurate, straightforward, nonpartisan information on government reform proposals.
California Choices is a new website from Next 10 and Stanford University’s Bill Lane Center for the American West with the Institute of Governmental Studies at U.C. Berkeley and the Center for California Studies at Sacramento State.
A recent Field Poll commissioned by the partners creating California Choices looked at Californians’ attitudes toward government reform. “With 63% of Californians stating that California’s government doesn’t respond to their needs, it’s clear that our current system is broken,” said F. Noel Perry, venture capitalist, philanthropist and founder of Next 10. “The question becomes: ‘How do we fix it?’ CaliforniaChoices.org fills the need for a reliable, nonpartisan resource for information on government reform.”
“Whether it’s creating jobs, fostering a healthy environment, or reducing the budget deficit, government reform is an integral part of every important issue facing California,” said David M. Kennedy, Co-Director of The Bill Lane Center for the American West and Pulitzer Prize winning historian. “We’re excited to provide a resource that shows visitors how matters of government reform lie at the heart of California’s most pressing concerns and helps them make more informed choices for our state’s future.”
